Although I am out of the season of being a young mother with babies I found this book taking me back through that season of time! It would have been helpful to read this as a first time mom or even in that season. Very authentic and inspiring. I am very proud of all the accomplishments the author has made. Not letting her disability hold her back from being successful in her writing as an author, her education, while raising her children as a single mom. I read this book on kindle, on my phone so found it a little lengthy. I should have bought the physical book. She asks great questions, which would have helped me in my own mama journey. I would recommend this to new mothers, especially. Great advice given when she talks about how important it is to have me time.

Inspiring Journey through young motherhood

This book is an introduction about how one’s life changes dramatically in motherhood with highlights about balancing mom’s well-being with that of her child. Many of us moms know its important to take care of ourselves but don’t know how to make the time or struggle with feelings of guilt, if ever putting our needs first. Lots of tips are incorporated and lend to building confidence as a mother as well as an individual. The author uses a beautiful rainbow metaphor to describe and relate to helping a child “come into their own”. This personal, but relatable story, is inspiring.

Great read for new moms!

This is a great book for all moms out there to enjoy while having a good soak or taking a quiet, rest time. It’s full of affirmations that we ARE doing a great job and everything IS going to be okay. It’s easy to read format and interesting dialogue leave you feeling like you’re just enjoying a chat of a cup of coffee with a fellow motherhood traveler.

Enjoyable and relaxing read

This is an interesting and very honest discussion of what is it like to become a mother for the first time. It deals with a lot of challenging and surprising topics. I can relate to a lot of what she talks about from my own experience. I think most new, or soon to be, moms can benefit from this book.

Great read for all moms.

New and old moms need to read. The humor and the journey of being a new mom is spot on. I couldn’t have said it any better. I love the lightness of the book and yet it prepares new mothers and reminds older mothers of what matters. Wonderful book. A must read.

Great read for all moms.

As I read this book, I realized it is detailed and the words jump off the page painting vivid images in my head of what it is to persevere as a first time mom. A current mother of two children, I believe the insights the author provides can strengthen the confidence of a woman expecting and then raising a child.

A Book to Soothe the Nerves of Pregnant Women and Women Considering Motherhood

This is an honest story of one mom's struggles and triumphs in the crazy world of child raising. It's easy to understand and seems like a conversation with a friend. Lots of tips to take care of yourself as a mom - which is very important to be able to give so much to your children.

Guidance for new moms

I haven’t finished reading the second one, but her first book was filled with such honesty about how we all feel as moms at times. It is funny and real! I know all of us feel like we fail at times that is how we can relate through this book. We are all doing our best and our kids love us so much for that. We are their hero’s. Makaila really puts into perspective how being a mom can be funny, real, and the best hardest job we will ever do. Great read and especially during Quarintine.

Great book on the journey of motherhood.

What I enjoyed is the honesty the author used to convey her feelings about motherhood - the doubts many of us have of our ability to be great mothers as well as the happiness and contentment being a mother can bring. It is okay to not be perfect at being a mom. The love for our children is perfect enough. Michaela invites you into her motherhood experience by combining a great sense of humor, wisdom and strength - perhaps making it a bit easier for the rest of us.

Looking for a book on motherhood to bring you peace...and a laugh or two!

I love having this book right there on my dresser. A fun bath tub, me time book. It’s so refreshing to stop and sit and read with my fav beverage and do just like the title says “take a sip, take a breath” and then somehow you feels more equipped for the GO! Part
